Oropesa mining: environmental impacts and restoration project

Design and illustration of six infographic posters on the Oropesa Mine for the Department of Forestry Engineering at the University of Córdoba.

The infographics were displayed at the stand of Minas de Estaño, a subsidiary of the Australian multinational Elementos, the project’s promoter, at the European Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH) conference, held in Seville in October 2024.

1/ Geographic location of the mine. Geological, physical, and environmental characteristics of the area.

2/ Environmental impacts of the mine’s operation on existing resources and on the surrounding flora and fauna. Timeline of the mine’s lifespan.

3/ Action levels planned by the restoration plan and their chronology.

4/ Mitigation measures for flora and vegetation around the mine.

5/ Mitigation measures for fauna around the mine.

6/ Description of the Oropesa Mine ecological restoration project.
