My name is Raquel Feria Legrand, and I am a journalist, illustrator and infographic designer specialising in transforming scientific, technical and editorial information into clear, rigorous and engaging visual resources.
I live with my family in Tomares, Seville, where I work remotely on projects for both national and international clients.
For more than twenty years, I worked at Diario de Sevilla, where I coordinated the Infographics Department and created content for the various newspapers published by Grupo Joly. This experience strengthened my ability to analyse, synthesise and prioritise information, make visual decisions based on sound editorial judgement, and manage complex projects under demanding deadlines. During this period, I designed maps, statistical graphics, data visualisations, process diagrams, and highly detailed vector and isometric illustrations.
I currently work as a freelance infographic designer for universities, research and innovation groups, companies and communication agencies. My work goes beyond illustration and design: I analyse the documentation, identify the essential information and create visual pieces that make scientific, technical and corporate content easier to understand.
My journalistic background and editorial experience allow me to collaborate with scientists, technicians and specialists from a wide range of disciplines, translating their knowledge into accessible visual resources without compromising accuracy.
I develop illustration projects for publishing companies, design and advertising agencies, museums and exhibitions. I have illustrated objects, architecture, scenes and characters, adapting the style, level of detail and visual language to the specific requirements of each commission.
I specialise in digital scientific illustration, particularly in botany and nature.
I also illustrate for my personal project, which I distribute on the Etsy platform. This project allows me to experiment, develop new ideas and explore techniques that I had not previously used in my professional work.
I consider myself a responsible, meticulous, flexible and versatile professional, with a strong ability to understand new subjects, identify problems and develop creative, practical solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
